What’s the Story? March 2022

John Sylvestre certified aging in place specialist

We remodel a lot of bathrooms. It seems that this is one space that gets lots of use, and things wear out and need to be updated. It is not surprising how well bathrooms and universal design dovetail together. Our job as remodelers is to improve homes so they work better for our clients, and adding the universal design elements is just an extension of our job. Not only do we remodel to update the mechanicals and finishes, but we want to make sure the remodeling will work now and in the future as we all change.

New Accessibility Bathroom Project

We have just started a remodeling project that not only includes a bathroom but also includes a home elevator. We have done a few of these projects, and an elevator provides access to all levels of a home to everyone, regardless of age or physical needs.

Celebrating 50 Years and 1,000+ Projects

We are celebrating our 50th year in business this year! Wow, it is amazing how time flies when you are having fun! I am sure we have done well over 1000 remodeling projects in that time and have so many wonderful clients. Many we have remodeled more than one time, and now I am getting calls from clients’ children who were toddlers when we remodeled their parents’ homes.

We have been lucky to have great people as part of our staff. With any business, change seems to be a constant.

Team Updates: New Faces and Partnerships

We have been lucky to have great people as part of our staff. With any business, change seems to be a constant. We have added a number of new employees as some of our staff have transitioned to different jobs. Les retired in June and is now working with his son, and Kate moved on in October. This has given us the opportunity to meet and hire new people with different experiences and ideas. Chris Page is our new Field Supervisor who brings experience and vision from a construction and business-owner background.

Harvey Sherman has joined the Sylvestre team! Pictured above is project, Sunny Attic and Bathroom.

Kim Lieske is our new Production Manager who is bringing a “detail-focused“ background to this role, and we have teamed up with Harvey Sherman, an architect with years of remodeling experience to join our design team.

All of these changes fit our mission: to provide an organized and managed process to our projects, and every project provides an opportunity for our team to develop and challenge our skills as both craftsmen and individuals. We are dedicated to excellence in design, craftsmanship, and customer service.

Have a great 2022! Until next time,
