What’s the Story July 2021 Edition – Living in Place

JohnMore and more Minnesotans are getting to the point where they need to make some decisions about where they are going to stay for the long term – Single Family Home? Condo? High Rise? Coming off a year of staying in place due to Covid, modifying an existing home is really appealing. Based on an AARP study, 1 in 3 Americans are over 55 years old, which represents 20% of the population, and over 90% want to stay in their homes. It’s not surprising this is such a hot topic!

The question remains – Does my home meet my current lifestyle, and will it meet my future lifestyle needs? We can help you answer those questions.  I became a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) over 17 years ago to help people make their homes more livable for now, as well as into the future – for example, this 1980s bathroom remodel, and this lower-level bathroom which included a walk-in closet and installing an elevator. When we apply the principles of Universal Design, we’re making spaces more accessible to all kinds of people, regardless of their age or physical abilities.

The CAPS designation offers reassurance that we can help you make the choices you need to stay in your homes safely and securely.  Call us at (612) 861-0188 if you would like to talk or download our E-Book Remodeling for Your Future: Stay in the Home You Love.

The summer is now upon us and next week will be the 4th of July. Wow – how time flies. We celebrated Les’s retirement with an outdoor party on one of the most spectacular days of the summer. He stopped by the office to chat a few days ago and he is enjoying his retirement.

Happy Retirement Les!

Summer Panfishing Flies

I am looking forward to a few days of family and fishing at the cabin over the 4th.  As we say here:  4th of July, State Fair and then….snow! Wow!

I hope you all get a chance to play with family and friends as we head into the midst of summer in Minnesota!

Until next month,

Trouble
