What’s the Story? Dec 2021

John Sylvestre certified aging in place specialistThe winter season is upon us and who would have predicted a 12” snowfall in Minneapolis followed by a thunderstorm and tornadoes in the southern part of the state! Wow.

With that in mind, mudrooms do take front and center stage this time of year.

Many of us enter from the garage into the house and that transition space is very important. It is where you set down the groceries or the kids as you grab your keys to get into your space. What happens if it is raining? Or Snowing? And once inside the door, where do the boots and mittens and coats and soccer balls… you get the idea. A lot happens in those transition spaces.

As we approach the new year, perhaps a goal would be to make your entry work the way you want it to work instead of working around a space that doesn’t meet your needs.

We have added a few new team members in the past months.

Zak Shaw has joined us as a carpenter and is a welcome addition to the field staff. He and Marc went to high school and played hockey together. He spent time in a custom tile shop before he became fascinated with carpentry.

We also have added Kim Lieske as our Production Manager. Kim has a background in project management as well as working in an interior design office. With interior design and business management degrees, she’ll be a nice fit to help in organizing and managing the production department.

I wrapped up my home deck project on Thanksgiving weekend – after starting in May. Don’t they say something about the shoemaker’s kids always going barefoot?

As we turn the page on 2021, we want to thank all of our friends and customers for their continued support and projects. We enjoy the many people and varied projects that we do on an everyday basis. Our goal is always to listen and then work with our clients to make their homes work better for them. It is always fun and fascinating as we transform people’s houses and their lives through remodeling.

We wish you, your family, and your friends a happy holiday season and New Year!

Until next time,
