Our Leadership TeamOur collaborative leadership team—comprised of John, Kate and Les—is unique in its longevity and compatibility.
JOHNJOHN offers a unique blend of artist and business person, and he's someone willing to get his hands dirty. Nothing is more important than making your remodeling look like it has always been there and making sure attention to the details on site are consistent with the detailing and quality that one expects from a professional company. John describes his job as that of a coach, making sure he has the best players on his team.
KATEKATE does it all. She has years of experience in all aspects of running a remodeling project. She’s relentless in every aspect of producing your project, from making sure the addition is in the right place, to making sure the last cabinet handle is the “right” handle. Most importantly, she keeps the project on time and on budget. Her skills as a team player help make sure that what is designed and specified gets delivered.
LESWhen you look up the word craftsperson in the dictionary you’ll see a picture of LES. We’re still trying to find out how they got his picture. He is truly one of a kind. Les is skilled in dealing with people and can fix almost anything, with the patience of a saint. He is also the person who can make wood “dance in his hands.” Every project we do has Les’ final touch. He oversees field operations, hands on. Everyone feels confident when Les is on the job site.
OwnerJohn has been in the remodeling industry for over 42 years and started the company while putting himself through Architecture school at the University of Minnesota, eons ago. He loves taking an existing home and working closely with the owner to better fit their current and future needs. He has been active in the Remodeling industry at both the local and national level and received the Harold Hammerman Award for Education, the highest in the industry, for his work in developing and implementing the Certified Lead Carpenter program. He is passionate about the outdoors and loves expeditions that take him to wild and far away places. Don't ask about fishing unless you have some time.
Production ManagerKate is the "Maestro" of each project meeting, making sure that everyone is playing the same song. She skillfully organizes the schedule, then orchestrates every detail of every project through our carpenters, subcontractors and suppliers. She also has a keen eye for design.
Field SupervisorLes has over 42 years of construction experience, including 36 years in residential remodeling. In 2006 he started teaching the CLC class for the Minnesota Chapter of NARI. Les is married and has a son and daughter, and in their spare time, they like racing snowmobiles and golfing.
